Why is Providing a clear Upgrade Path from WebCenter Interaction and Legacy Plumtree/ALUI to WebCenter Portal so complicated? It’s not actually if you leverage a specific proven methodology to eliminate mistakes and dead-ends. See how at Collaborate13 this year when Troy allen, Deputy CTO, covers this and more in his Collaborate session # 599 “WCC Technical Tips – Customization, Workflows, Security, and More” April 10th, 12:15pm.
Over the past 10 years WebCenter Interaction (WCI) has gone through several iterations of its lifecycle. Starting in 2003 as Plumtree Corporate Portal 5.0, it has progressed to BEA’s Aqualogic Interaction 6.1 when BEA acquired Plumtree and changed again in 2008 to WebCenter Interaction 10gR3 when Oracle purchased BEA. In 2011, Oracle released its last major version of WCI as version 10gR4. WCI is target to be “sunseted” and the strategic portal technology from oracle is WebCenter Portal. WCI is expected to enter into Extended Support as of January 2014 with no planned enhancements.
TekStream provides Oracle WCI and Plumtree/ALUI customers with an upgrade path designed to limit the risks of data loss, loss of functionality, and reduce the overall impact to the organization that comes from large scale upgrades.
