TekStream is passionate about giving back to our community and those in need. We dedicate our time, resources and financial contributions to charities both local and abroad. Here are some of the organizations that we currently support:
Honduras Outreach is a non-denominational, Christian organization dedicated to building life-changing relationships between the people of the Olancho department of Honduras and caring North Americans and other nationalities. Rancho el Paraiso is the focal point of the Honduras Outreach ministry and is located in the department of Olancho in central Honduras.
Olancho has one of the highest concentrations of infant mortality and poverty, and HOI has made a significant impact on reducing infant mortality in the last ten years with a public health and medical ministry. HOI’s Economic Development and Vocational Schools have increased the median rural family income by well over 400%.
Nearly every week during the year, HOI arranges for groups of volunteers from the United States to travel to Rancho el Paraiso, its 200-acre working ranch in the Agalta Valley of Central Honduras. From that base, the North Americans work side- by-side with Hondurans from nearby villages on community projects that range from replacing earthen floors with cement to helping establish schools, medical clinics, churches, micro enterprises and public health facilities.
Atlanta Community Food Bank
Atlanta Community Food Bank supports a wide range of people in need, from children to the working poor. Food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers are among the agencies that receive product from the Food Bank and provide food and other critical resources for low-income Georgians who suffer from hunger and food insecurity. The Food Bank also operates several community projects to aid its agencies in community building, technical assistance and advocacy efforts.
The Food Bank began as an emergency food provider in the basement of the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in downtown Atlanta. Today the organization has become a fixture in the community with 129,600 square feet of warehouse space, distributing more than 20 million pounds of food each year.
